Ray Del Toro
Ray was brought up in a Christian household, in church from day one. He was taught all about Christ, what He did, and His love for him. In 2001 Ray went on a short term mission trip with Calvary's youth group. It was on this trip that he truly experienced the work of the Spirit and dedicated his life to making Christ's name famous. Ray pursued a career in sales and at times he let God's blessing of success over him in the workplace fill him with a worldly pride and arrogance. God revealed Ray's sin to him, and that His love and mercies are renewed every morning. God is continuing to shape Ray into a vessel that channels his boldness to glorify God. Ray never felt at home in the workplace; he felt his right place was faithfully serving his Master, so he served in Vertical as a small group leader. Ray's passion is discipleship, inspired by the study of Scripture and also by a pastoral mentor (in his early college years). In 2009 he joined with his best friend, Rachel, in marriage. Nearly a year later, Ray was called into ministry, happily leaving his job, to work full time in Vertical Student Ministries. Ray is overwhelmed and thrilled to be able to serve Christ by teaching and ministering to Vertical students. Ray enjoys reading, music, teaching, and coffee with friends.
